Locked in...

I nearly had to lock myself in the bathroom to take a "time out" yesterday... Instead I took the little culprit to his room and had him stay there until I felt better and started thinking about how this could happen... It was my fault after all. I should be watching him better. Seriously though..... Before I had a chance to wake up he had gone potty by himself and was only half dressed, this gave him the perfect opportunity to draw on his body. Legs, arms, belly and p.... I wasn't too mad about this, he was more upset than me because of the vigorous scrubbing that followed. I gave the three year old lecture about not drawing on our bodies because it makes Heavenly Father sad when we color on his creation. It makes mommy sad too because then she can't see his beautiful face. Mostly that we shouldn't draw on anything but paper and coloring books. He agreed and we went on with the day...

Later

As I was helping Ry get ready for dance pictures I noticed how quiet it was... This is never a good sign. I found him in the bathroom and this time with a Sharpie... It was all over the tub and the cultured marble surround. It went as far as he could reach to as high as he could reach... Nice big black swirly lines.... AAHHHH! I didn't even take a picture which usually calms me down. Nope, I was flaming mad. I escorted him to his room which he made many attempts to escape, thus fuelling the fire. I tried to clean it up with the magic eraser. It wasn't that magic.. It cleaned up the tub, but the surround was stubborn... Then I tried Goo gone, didn't touch it, vinegar, house hold cleaner, Clorox wipes, Windex, and just as I was about to give up and sell the boy to the gypsies I spied the Ajax. I thought maybe because the marble is porous and the Ajax is an abrasive I might get it to work. I made a little paste with my fingers.. It did work, and the boy was saved... Whew!!! It has been a hard couple of days for Gator. He seems to have hit the terrible three's instead of the terrible two's. I think my mom has tried to block out memories of the naughty things I did as a kid. No selective memories here, Gator has it written on the blog forever.... Whaahahahaa...

I want some money!

I am not sure many of you know what a shadow Gator is to his daddy... During the day he tells me things like "when my daddy gets home I am gonna play with him in my room" and when I tell him I love him he would say "I love daddy" or "I love daddy first". He is getting to a point now where he will just say thank you if I tell him I love him. As soon as he hears the garage door start to go up he squeals really loud yelling "daddy's home, dad's home" and runs to the door. So the other day Daddy came home for a minute and grabbed food and then needed to go back to work and Gator said

- "where are you going daddy?"

Daddy-"To work"

Gator-"ahh why?"

Daddy-"To make some money for our family"

Gator-"Can I come too?"

Daddy-"No, you better stay here, there isn't anything for you to do"

Gator-"I wanna make some money!"

P.S. I decided that chocolate chip cookies do not taste the same going down, as coming up... EEEWWW!

Quick on her feet.

Just check out those moves....She gets that from her father.

All things BIG girlie

This is in reference to my little girl... Who happens to not be very old. Yet she thinks she is a teenager. She delights in hair extensions, is thrilled about matching earrings and fingernails and is ecstatic that daddy promised her a brand new pair of "skinny" jeans, after mommy threatened numerous times to throw these clothes out. This outfit she is wearing happens to be her favorite right now. One week she made it all the way from Thursday to Saturday wearing this outfit each day. You would think she has no other clothes. I had to remind her that we need to be clean and part of that is wearing clean clothes. She said she changed her undies and that was good enough.

Hair is another issue. She loves to have her hair done the way she wants it done. Most of the time I would say that she wants bumpy hair. This means we have to do braids the night before. Or straight hair... What happens to piggies and side ponies? She rips them out as soon as she is home from school/church. Her hair is also at that stage when it is really relaxed. My mom said my own crazy locks did this when I was younger too... I am thinking a perm might save us this summer... Believe it or not she has already had one perm in her short life. Maybe it is time for another.

What a kid... She is trying so hard to grow up...
