Tie one on!

The tutorial I found was for making these... Little boy neckties. I know you think he looks awesome with his new green polka dot tie and his camo.

I had to go online and find out how to tie a necktie. I tried a true Windsor and failed, so I am sticking with the 1/2 Windsor. I still think I need a little practice but at least I can tie one on a wiggly little boy. These are my first two, but they are so easy I am going to try some more. I also think I need a lighter weight interfacing. That way it won't stick out quite so much.

The stripe one doesn't fit well so I think that one of his bears will wear it. Or I will find a tiny friend who could use a necktie.

How handy was that!

After sending Ry to pre-school today, I came home for a super cleaning extravaganza. I really like to clean, especially my house. It relaxes me and make me feel really good. Almost like I accomplished something visible and tangible. I am a huge fan of the Fly Lady who says that "Even housework done poorly, blesses your family" So as I set my little timer and flitted around to various tasks, I had one problem. What do I do with Gator? I thought to myself; "self, we need the boy contained and happy" Contained and happy is just what I got; some trucks, and some books in our dry, newly scrubbed, jetted tub to zoom and play while I scrubbed the cameoed and the sinks to my hearts content. There it was all the time. We have a three butt-er, so there was more than enough room for all of his fun. I also let Ry wear her outfit today. Here is the link to the twirly skirt http://home.earthlink.net/~cornpatchcreations/twirlyskirt.htm and here is the link to the leg warmers http://baublesandbits.blogspot.com go to the side and click leg warmer tutorial. fun! I want to see links to your blogs of things you made too.... I found a new tutorial today that I can't wait to give a shot. I will hold you in suspense until I finish a couple. Until then (or sooner!)

Projects

As you can see I finally finished my pass along project. I gave away my third one today. Just two more to mail out. I was done last Thursday and haven't been able to find some of the addresses.

Then because I felt inspired to "finish" projects I made the socks I bought a while back into leg/arm warmers... Yay for hearts. I also needed something to go with the heart t-shirt I made Ry, so I made this twirly skirt with some more of my heart fabric and a free tutorial online. She wanted to sleep in it she loved it so much. I am going to make more skirts for that little girlie, she loves them and they are super cheap to make. I think this whole skirt cost me a buck to make. Ooooohhhhh and do you see those cute clips... They have hearts too!!! Guess what, My friend Cyndee made them for me (um Ry)! I was supposed to be the giver, she was one of my ladies to give to in the pass along, isn't she super RAD, for being the giver/receiver, I love them..Thank you so much..... Ry wanted to wear them right away.

This stitchy took no time at all... I bought the frame at DI. The hard thing was that the back slides into the frame and so it looks pulled a little. I might have to pull it out and glue it, so it doesn't look tugged.

I have been in the crafty-est mood lately. I have put all my other hobbies on hold while I do these little things. It's been kinda nice.

My first try

I had an idea for a "heart" table runner. I also had all this cute heart fabric to display, so I thought I would throw this together one day. I have been so inspired by my cute cousins ability to quilt http://thelittlecollection.blogspot.com. This in no way matches her incredible talent. But I thought I would show it off N-E-Ways.... I need to press it so it will lay flat. It was pretty fun. I think I will try more firsts. Oh, the black heart with the little fabric on it is a broken heart with a band-aid.... If you do something with hearts I will most defiantly want to copy (if it's okay). So send me a picture! I am making Ry heart leg warmers and I am also making pins that have a ? to people can ask about my littlest Heart.

And Kara- I will get you the info for the ID bracelets. I bought the band alone for six or seven bucks, and the metal part was $12 +$10 for engraving on the inside. I bought him a plain black band too... It is just the sculls one gets lots of attention which is what you want, so people know. What I really want is a Gator one for My Gator. They said if there are bands you would like to see to email them... Just what I plan on doing. Cross your fingers and toes that they have that style. LOL

SMMMMMAR T

I just wanted to report that Gator tested out of his early intervention program. This is a little bitter sweet for me as we loved our therapists with all our "Hearts". As Julie was pulling out of the drive, I welled up. Gator tested on a 22-24 month scale for almost everything, he has a little motor skills to catch up on, but at the rate he is going we are in TROUBLE, especially since now he is ahead of the game at 20 months. I thought for sure we would have speech issues. You know, I am comparing him to my Ry who has no trouble communicating her precocious little self(Cutie Pants). Amazingly he has done very well with his words. He is half and half now. Signing half of his vocab and vocalizing the rest. His most recent word is truck. When he first started saying it, it sounded more like CRap. Hahaha... We are driving down the street and all I can hear from the back is Crap, Crap, crap. I would say "yes honey, that is a bad driver. No, that wasn't a smart move, was it?" and so on.

Speaking of back seat drivers..... Remember that little girl that can clearly communicate. She is THE WORST!!!!! back seat driver. She tells the slow cars to "get going", and "crazy driver get off the road", and "what is taking sooooo long"... She is hilarious.

Last. We got Gator's medical ID bracelet and I am taking pictures of it's cuteness...

Post them soon. FRILLS

OOOUUUCHIIEEE

Today I had a fight with the icy sidewalk and it won. I was holding Gator in one arm and Ry's hand in my other hand. Carefully scaling our nearly vertical driveway. I made it all the way to the bottom right next to the car and slipped; pulling Ry down on her hip and trying with all my might to protect Gator who flung backwards, leaving no way for me to hold on to him. He ended up underneath the car by the passenger side wheel and smacking his head on that nasty pavement. I screamed, couldn't move, cried and couldn't do anything but pull Gator out from under the car on top of me while he screamed bloody murder. All three of us lay there and soaked up the wetness and hurt. I smacked my elbow really hard and have a nasty sore, and I banged my head. Most of you know that I have an awesome fro that I usually wear in a ponytail, except for Sunday when I try to be presentable. Well, I am sure it saved me from a serious head injury because it cushioned my head right where I smacked it. Poor Gator boy has a blue goose egg the size of a quarter on the back of his head, but he seemed unscathed otherwise. Ry is sore with a rug burn on her hip... We survived, now I just need a good nights rest.

Talk about Gourmet

I had to share this. Yesterday, Britt O. had posted about interesting ways to dress up Mac-n-cheese. I have always done the hot doggies with it but have never heard of chili mixed in. So today I decided to give this a shot. Chili in Mac-n-cheese was a huge success...Gator had two helpings, Ry even threw on a dollop of sour cream and a little s&p and this is pretty much gourmet!!!!! So I spent about .25 cents on my off brand mac-n-cheese. and .59 on my (also) off brand chili and walllaaa a cheap lunch/dinner(in a hurry) that feeds about two adults and two children for under a dollar.

01-03-09

So is anyone having a hard time when you write the date? I have been messing up and putting '08. I'll get it... Any way yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Gator's Glenn. He is doing very well. So to celebrate I took him to the Dr. for his Synigis injection and found out he weighs in at 22 lbs. He also has an inner ear infection, which means antibiotic. I hope he doesn't have a c-diff flare up. I have been wondering if he has had one because he hasn't been sleeping all that well. YUCK! Ry is so funny, mommy is antsy to have her back in her routine of school and sleep. Winter break is taking it's toll on our little girlie. I can't wait for the structure but I will miss my buddy while she is at school and dance. Today is my mom's 20-something anniversary of her 29th birthday. Way to go MOM!!! we sure love you!

Photo's

It's been so hard on the little guy to take out the morning nap... This will seem funny to some, "heart" kids cross their ankles a lot. We have multiple pictures of Gator doing this.

Christmas Eve food and fun. I love that Gator put the plate on the floor and stood on it. We certainly had a white Christmas.

falling asleep about any where. Those Dorritos couldn't even keep him awake.

Posted by PicasaNew Years with my family, now you see where I get the "ham". Marc, Lis, and Arli are not pictured, but partied with us too.
