Post from the mommy

What a huge day it has been for our whole family. It feels a little like being dragged behind a horse. Grandma and Papa Clawson took Ryleigh to the Zoo and she had a blast looking at all the animals. Jeff and I spent most of the day in the waiting room. Now we are just watching over our little boy. The hardest part for me is feeling torn between our two beautiful children. At least I know she is in good hands with the grandma's and grandpa's. Alex is very different looking after surgery. He is swollen and now has so many things hooked up to him, but he is stable and doing good. Dr. Hawkins had to come up and cut into his tape and suction some blood that had pooled. It wasn't continually bleeding it just wasn't draining. Everything else seems to be going good this hour. It changes hourly and some things are very hard to understand so I won't go into too many details. You can see right into his open chest at his heart pumping away. He is amazing. I feel very close to heaven right now. This is an amazing journey, we are so blessed to be able to see and feel all of these things. You should be envious of us.....

Wow! Brynn we just got back from a week long vacation and not a day went by that I didn't think of you and your family! I had read the blog before we left and knew that little Alex wold be born while we were gone, boy did I wish I could have access to the internet while away from home! The first thing I did when we got in the house was check out the blog! Without getting all mushy on you I just wanted to say what a true blessing you and Jeff have been given, your little guy is absolutely gorgous. And I too have to agree he looks just like little Ryleigh! Wow! I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers and I pray that things will continue to go as well as they have. Alex is truly in the best hands! I know you have a lot of family and friends helping right now, but please know that I am here as well if you need anything!

Brynn, you are amazing. You are so right about being close to heaven. You are right there amoung the angels who are attending to Alex. He is a very valiant little spirit to endure this challenge and Heavenly Father is so aware of Alex and your family. It is a little shocking how much they change after surgery. There little bodies are just miraculous and to watch them work and heal is a precious experience. Thanks for sharing this with us and I for one do envy you both right now.
