Going Home

So we are going home today... I am so excited. We are just waiting for discharge orders. I wanted to thank you all for the prayers and thoughts.. Most of you know how scary it is to be taking him home... I just wanted to ask a tiny favor, if you are sick or otherwise afflicted, can you not come over and if you chance to stop by... Can you not bring any little ones over.... AND...... Maybe we should just have a little time to get settled... I wanted to say it nicely that I am a huge GERM-A-Phobe now and I will make you wash and wash...So don't be offended.. I just got the talking to by the doctors....We'll write more later

Yeah!!! I am excited and nervous for you all at the same time. You are basically going to be turning your house into a little hospital. The feeding tube, the oxygen and all the meds will make him feel right at home. The only nervous part is not having nurses and doctors right there to watch over him 24/7. I think that is part of the reason that we all had to stay in the hospital for so long so we could learn what to do when we got home. You guys will do great. Feel free to call Jennylin or I anytime, we are only six months ahead of you on this same path and we can learn together!!

It sounds like you have some great friends living by you that will take good care of you. Maybe one of the them can call your Bishop and Relief Society President so they can announce tomorrow in church that while you are home, Alex is not able to have visitors and if people bring in some meals, don't be offended if you meet them at the front door. I guess I am being paranoid for you, but you have to protect that special heart kid.

Bryson and the gang all say Hi!!

Yeah for Alex! He did it. He is going home. We are so excited for you all. What a special day. CELEBRATE! Good Luck with all that is ahead I am confident that you are both prepared. I know that Paulene has shared with us her own fears about what to expect and how to handle it all, but just remember, you are not alone. Heavenly Father will continue to prompt you and help you as you care for Alex. This is just so exciting for him to be with his family in his home. What a blessing. And P.S. I think you are right on with the germ thing. You go girl. After what you have been through, NO ONE should expect less and I hope you do not hear any complaints. You are Alex's voice now and I think you are doing great. I agree with Eric on the calling the Bishop or RS Pres. Let them announce to ALL the rules and so you don't have too many unexpected arrivals. I can't wait to see pictures of how he is doing. I am sure you have your hands full right now but maybe in a quiet evening moment you can share a favorite photo of coming home. We love you and wish you continued success. I know they are cheering in heaven today. Max especially is giving Alex a thumbs up! Way to go Buddy! Love Kathy

We are so happy for you and your family. Don't worry second about offending anyone, your first priority is your little guy not being nice to neighbors and friends. Maybe post a sign on your front door as well, that way those of us that are literate will know before we knock on the door? You guys deserve some wonderful, peaceful time at home as a family. If there is anything you need don't hesitate to let us know. Love as always The Browns

I'm so happy to hear you are going home! That is awesome news! Stick to your guns about staying germ free! Don't worry, everyone will understand, (and if they don't, who cares!) You need to worry about Alex staying well!

Great news, settle in at home and enjoy him while he recovers. We are so happy that things are going so well. Now you guys are his protector and watch out for his well being. I know he will do great in your care. There will be times when you need a break and if we can help in any way by watching him or bring over lunch or whatever let us know. Maybe not next week or a month from now but at some point you'll need a break, we've been through this stuff before many of times. We want to wish you guys the very best.

What a wonderful surprise from the Homer family that Alex is home. We are just as excited as you are. Hey don't worry about telling everyone to stay away for awhile. Melinda said that she is freaking out about germs with Aleah. Well I am looking forward to the day that I will be able to see Alex. But as long and you keep us all updated that is great too!
