Our Eden has turned Eight. She couldn't wait to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We always teach that each child can choose for themselves. They have all the power in this choice. With Eden she knew long long ago, hasn't stopped talking about it and started planning her dress and shoes.
I am not happy about this photo shoot. NOT because of the gorgeous little girl, but because I could not find my CF card for my nice camera. I used to love to take pictures and don't really make time to do it now. But when something comes up with the kids, I love to have my Cannon because it feels more professional than my phone. I was so mad, I even went to a couple of stores and they don't carry these cards in stock anymore and I have to order online or go to a fancy camera shop. Or something really weird like that. Anyways..... Of course I was trying to get lighting worked out on my phone and taking these first shots with her blessing dress. They didn't work out at all. But this is the only one I have of her with her two white dresses. Someday it will be three white dresses.
The bracelet on the left is her baby bracelet. I made it for her when she was blessed.
The bracelet on the right is her baptism bracelet. I took her baby bracelet and added more beads and a new charm and lots of sparkly bling. When she gets married she will have this, with new beads added to fit for her wedding day. It will be her "something old", if she wants. I didn't realize how many of these types of things we do.
I also made her this pair of sparkly earrings.. Dangle earrings, because she can finally wear them.
I should have taken her for a fancy mani and pedi. Alas.... time.... But, she is just happy with her shoes.
The little blanket she is laying on was crocheted for her by her Grandma Homer. It holds her baby blessing dress in my cedar chest. (My cedar chest happened to be made by my grandpa Groesbeck) we are sure lucky, we come from loving grandparents) Especially since her other Grandma Clawson made her blessing dress. She offered to make her baptism dress, but with Auntie Pres getting married and Grandma making her wedding gown, we didn't want to overwhelm her. Wedding dress construction is a big deal. I should be a better mom and sew it for her. It would not turn out this lovely. (I am rambling)
On her actual birthday, she wanted Texas Roadhouse for dinner.
Eden really wants to be an artist when she grows up. I have no doubt she will be able to do just that. So in true Eden style she had a paint party at The Art Cottage.
She wanted to be Hermione for Halloween. This is a big Harry Potter influenced year for Eden.
