Locked in...

I nearly had to lock myself in the bathroom to take a "time out" yesterday... Instead I took the little culprit to his room and had him stay there until I felt better and started thinking about how this could happen... It was my fault after all. I should be watching him better. Seriously though..... Before I had a chance to wake up he had gone potty by himself and was only half dressed, this gave him the perfect opportunity to draw on his body. Legs, arms, belly and p.... I wasn't too mad about this, he was more upset than me because of the vigorous scrubbing that followed. I gave the three year old lecture about not drawing on our bodies because it makes Heavenly Father sad when we color on his creation. It makes mommy sad too because then she can't see his beautiful face. Mostly that we shouldn't draw on anything but paper and coloring books. He agreed and we went on with the day...

Later

As I was helping Ry get ready for dance pictures I noticed how quiet it was... This is never a good sign. I found him in the bathroom and this time with a Sharpie... It was all over the tub and the cultured marble surround. It went as far as he could reach to as high as he could reach... Nice big black swirly lines.... AAHHHH! I didn't even take a picture which usually calms me down. Nope, I was flaming mad. I escorted him to his room which he made many attempts to escape, thus fuelling the fire. I tried to clean it up with the magic eraser. It wasn't that magic.. It cleaned up the tub, but the surround was stubborn... Then I tried Goo gone, didn't touch it, vinegar, house hold cleaner, Clorox wipes, Windex, and just as I was about to give up and sell the boy to the gypsies I spied the Ajax. I thought maybe because the marble is porous and the Ajax is an abrasive I might get it to work. I made a little paste with my fingers.. It did work, and the boy was saved... Whew!!! It has been a hard couple of days for Gator. He seems to have hit the terrible three's instead of the terrible two's. I think my mom has tried to block out memories of the naughty things I did as a kid. No selective memories here, Gator has it written on the blog forever.... Whaahahahaa...

We have had days like these. My middle one took a sharpie to my father's white leather couch. I was able to get it off with rubbing alcohol and ax deodorant. I know? But that was what can up when I googled the subject. It worked.

Oh dear. Such trouble! No play dates for Jack and Gator :) j/k

I think the Lord knows that the naughty ones need to come extra cute so they don't get murdered by their mothers. Good luck!

I am with you there. When it comes to my boys the three's are far WORSE than the two's. Glad you were able to get the sharpie out of the marble and that Gator survived. Reminds me of a talk President Monson recently gave he said to enjoy the little hand prints your kids leave around the house because quicker than you know it they will be gone. Kids grow up too quickly. Enjoy even the mischief they make.

Oh the threes are so much harder then the twos, especially with boys! Good luck! That is all I can say. I will be thinking of you, and well laughing! No really I feel your pain!

Oh Brynnie--so funny to read--not so fun to live. :) Stinkin' Markers!! I hid every Sharpie 6 feet high and threw out EVERY non-washable Crayola. At least the hair dryer has melted crayon for me!
So funny...Gator is still just a cute little stink though!! :)
Loves!! Nat
