Make A Wish Halloween

The kids have had a great start on their trick or treating. I am debating if I should divide out the 'good stuff' and give the rest out on Halloween. I think there is a good chance I am going to be a candy recycler. That way we can get rid of the non-awesome stuff. Munchie is going to be a gummie girl.. She is a huge fan of Dots, Mike n Ike's, and skittles. Ry's favorite treats include Air heads, Laughy Taffy, and Jolly rancher chews. Gator just loves it all... Eeeewwww, it's gonna be a crazy tooth brushing time. Maybe I should let them only have it for one day and donate the rest to the teachers prize bins at school? We had a fun time at the Wishing Place. Trick or treating the halls, decorating cookies, and playing spooktacular games!!! Gator was so careful with the frosting. He wanted to make sure everything was well covered. Munchie also loved the cookie decor. She got a little carried away with the sprinkles. In fact, she ended up leaving the cookie all together and put her complete focus on the consumption of those sprinkles. Ry loved the attention from all the teenage helpers. Nothing like being adored by older kids for twenty minutes!!

Daddy daughter

I am feeling rather old! Now that Ry is eight she gets to participate in activity days... Back in the good old days when I was young you had to be ten years old. It was called Merry Miss. The whole point is to have opportunities to work on and set goals to accomplish the "Faith in God" program. So she is old enough to go to these activities... It feels kinda big-ish of her and me.. To let her stay up past bedtime and enjoy her time with her peers. The last activity was with her daddy. They carved pumpkins together..although daddy looks a little freaked out he is having a great time with his oldest daughter! And a little picture of the finished product! She won the award for the most ghostly pumpkin!

Good thought!

"As you wonder through your life, friend,
Whatever be your goal,
Keep your eyes upon the donut
And not upon the hole."

May you find joy in the donut:)

Pumpkin walk 2012

Saturday was a day full of fun! Our city holds a few Halloween activities that we have been going to for years. My kids love getting started on their Trick-or-treating. Munchie would eat the treats as fast as they were in her bag.

Gator is so funny because he likes to try out all the games.. We couldn't even think about leaving until he gave each one a shot.

I love Ry, she is such a big helper. She sure does make it easy to have littles around. She helped Munch with most of the games...

She also tried out a few things that only she and Gator were big enough to try. This leather stamping was right on with her creative brain.

Can you even believe I let my heart baby bob for apples. I kept thinking of all the other snot nosed children who had spit in this tub before he got to it... I freaked OUT! I can only control so much. He wanted to do it so bad...

He succeeded...

Munchie just grabbed one out! I thought that was even better than bobbing...

The Mess Maker (s)

Munchie is a mess maker extraordinaire. She does even better with a helper friend... Her bestest buddy ever, came over for a play date. I had a little procedure done so I was a little slower to get to the girls...
The top of the stairs... The pictures really don't do it justice.... Laugh with me now, these things will be memories we giggle about. How perfectly 2 year old of these girls.
Down the first three stairs to the landing... also where the plant met his doom. The girls pulled out ALL the dirt. All that was left was a root ball. I am almost as bad a plant mom as I am a pet mom... Poor plant now lives in a landfill. It would not have lived through another baby.
Not done with the action, Munchie tries to smile her way into my heart... Confession- it worked!
It wouldn't be our Munchie if she didn't taste just a little... MMMMMMM planting soil...
The girls in all their dirty glory... I had to give them a bath. They thought that was a reward rather than a punishment. They laughed and splashed in the water and wouldn't get out, until the water turned cool and it was OVA!

I tried to ask which girl had the bright idea, neither would give me a straight answer or look me in the eye... Abby did start eyeballing the other plants we have.... hum?  Daddy had been working late, he walked into the mess because I was bathing the girls. He set right to work to clean it all up... That daddy gets a big smooch for being my helper that night.

IHH Halloween Birthday Dinner

For your viewing pleasure... the hit of the night.... Cement Lady!!!
Gator going as a real zombie fighter pilot, who has crashes, who is also a Dracula... Whew! I had no idea how to pull that make up off. I did come close enough to make Gator happy.
Ry loves visiting with all the friends she has made in the Heart community.
Munchie monkey just loves the candy...
Gator with his friends... All the teeth are awesome! We have had a wonderful year with IHH. I love getting to know so many families who know what it's like to be in our shoes. I love spending time picking the brains of the Mommy's in our group. I can get answers to real life things not dr. answers. Doctor answers are good, but a mom who has experienced it with her own child, lived it, that is sometimes the best kind of doc... This year IHH is also doing a "changing of the guards". It is time for a new governing board. I sit on the executive board and manage bylaws and boring things like that. I am so thankful for our recent governing board and our new GB. It will be different, as it should.

Munchies Birthday (part 2)

Here she is in all her Birthday glory!!! She loves to push around this empty stroller... And being practical we got her new bedding, and clothes... She doesn't really know it is her birthday. Next year it will be toys of all kinds I am sure.
She also got her big girl bed set up. It is going pretty good except last night she wouldn't sleep... It was one of the worst nights ever! She is really growing up so fast.

This big girlie can blow out her candles all by herself...
Who really needs a spoon when you can just throw your whole face into eating your cake... Which she loved, because it was pink.

She did attempt to use the spoon.

Just not affective. Fingers and face are much better tools...

Bed/mess maker

In the morning while Gator and Ry are at school, Munchie and I try and accomplish as many tasks as possible..... Or we just hang out and watch Elmo. On the crazy get stuff done days Munchie is my helper... She drags the laundry basket to the laundry room, scrubs toilets, helps unload the dishes from the dishwasher and helps change the sheets on the bed!!! In an instant she can be my mess maker... An almost entire roll of TP in the toilet...

Miss Munchie Turns 2 (part 1)

Happy Birthday to our little Sunshine!!! Eden is so fun at this age. Some of her favorite things are: her pinkblue blankies, her babies or dolly, her brother and sister, playing outside, she loves hannie (candy) and sreats (treats) she is liking Elmo more and more each day. Her best little friend is Abby B.... They are a hoot together in nursery. She is an easy going kid who can usually find something or someone to entertain her. She is meals on wheels. Munchie is jealous that her sibs get to go to school and is super excited when they come home. Her daddy is her all around favorite person. When he gets home she yells..."daddy Home!!!" She also loves to talk on the pone (phone) and the ipod is no match for her... She loves to sing Justin Bieber's Song Baby and knows all the words to the cuppycake song even though you can't understand what she is saying....Munchie often looks "homeless" she can be found in the dirt and up until recently had tried eating almost every substance she could get her little hands on.... Oh, we love her so....

Munchie thinks she is much older than her just two years of age. If the older kids are doing and experiencing things, heck, she would like to give it a shot. She is a parrot for every word we say and will shout out "Me too!" for nearly any question we ask the older kids.... Her little prayers consist of a jumble of words we don't understand, although the intonation is correct, followed by Anon (Amen). When we asked her how old she was turning she would hold up one finger and say three... Sheesh people you do the math....
