How we've been do'in

My mom used to use a phrase when I was little; I didn't like or really appreciate it until now. When I was upset, angry, or sad and it showed in the expression on my face. She would look at me, and try and get me to laugh by saying "If you keep holding your face that way it will stick like that forever" Then she would pull a funny over exaggerated expression and I would end up laughing and it would take the strain out of the situation.

Well we are holding our faces with smiles hoping they stick that way.

We are really doing great.

This last baby failure has certainly been the hardest on my body. I am getting better and I haven't needed to have any surgical intervention (luckily). I understand why it has happened, I have accepted that things like this do happen. But, the darn cruddy part is that my body is so slow at recovering and I don't have the happy part to make it better. My emotions have healed, now I just wish I could go swimming. LOL

Daddy is busy as ever. We got invited to attend girlies camp this weekend. We are also going to do another assignment at the temple. It is run run run as fast as you can for him.

Ry is funny she loves playing outside at about 6 p.m. when it isn't super hot and asks on a daily basis to go on a walk. I need to come up with some fun projects to do inside in the AC to hold her over to the evening. She visited the dentist again, no problems and no cavities. She also asks for play dates every day too. I was hoping to work with her letters, I haven't, instead I have slacked off. I have taken her to the library, we have read tons of books together. Just no letters. pOO!

Gator is finally going into see the ENT at the end of the month I looked in his ear and I am no doctor but it still looks pretty ouchie. He is talking a mile a minute, his new favorite thing to say is CRAP, and oh goosh! Or, BIG(insert any type of vehicle here) ! He hangs on everything. He hangs on the door to the oven and pulls it open which knocks him to the floor. He also hangs on the island in the center of the kitchen, today he smacked his lip and because of his asprin he bled and bled. It freaked him out a little to see all that blood. Nothing a little pressure, a couple paper towels and a new shirt couldn't fix.

We are still planning some fun things this summer, I was gung-ho about doing fun things and now I have kinda sizzled out a little. I gotta make my list of things to do before summer ends just so I can make sure we do it all...

I have a bunch of photos to post, so you can see that I am not a totally lame momma.

You... a lame momma?? No. NEVER! :) Letters can wait, but these daily moments are here to be remembered. I am glad your heart is healing a little. I have been thinking of you and hoping you guys were holding up.

I do know what you mean about the first part. I lost a baby right before Roman. It takes a while to heal the heart. No questions about it and to heal the body. Make some Peanut Butter playdoh with Riley she and Gator will like it and the good thing is if he eats it -then that is ok too. Playdates are good, but they can be exhausting. Does SLC have a children's museum we just went to one and the kids had a blast. Do you guys have a free movie day at your local movie place we do in the summer if you do that is always fun.

You are not a lame momma! I can't believe that you would even think that!

I love the ENT's at Primary's. Nathan has seen them ALL. He is part of the craniofacial clinic and so all of the doctors check in on them. My favorites and Dr. Muntz and Dr. Park. Everyone kept telling me that tubes are no big deal after open heart surgery. Well, that may be true but the whole time Nathan was in there I kept worrying about his heart. It just seems like adding salt to an open wound sometimes.

Take your kids to the Discovery Gateway Children's museum at the Gateway. They will love and and I'm sure you could use a little break from everything.

Good luck!

Also on the letters I did the Leap Frog movies with Jake- letter factory, word factory etc. They were amazing. He picked the stuff up so much then the girls did without. What is so funny about you being invited to girlie camp is that my husband volunteered to go and they turned him down. How funny is that? You Homers are just WAY to amazing!! Can Ry come and play?? I have been LAZY LAZY LAZY and my poor Ellie has been BEGGING for a friend. I've just been too lazy to put forth the effort to entertain, you know? Im over it now and we went and bought TONS of indoor art supplies to keep us busy while it is so HOT out! Send her over!!!!!!!!!!!

What a busy summer already. It was so great to run into you at the hospital! I know what you mean. My Mom's philosophy is fake-it-until-you-make-it!!!

I'm glad you posted- I was starting to worry something was wrong.

I'd recommend the Lavender Festival. It's clear the heck in Mona, Ut (South Utah County almost to Nephi). For $3.00 per kid you can ride a big 'ole wagon pulled by horses and see creatures like a 'Zedonk' and all the rest of the activities are free. It's also an awesome photo op. We had so much fun we're going again next Wednesday with an even bigger group. I did a post on my blog about it if you want to get an idea of what's up with that.
