OOOUUUCHIIEEE

Today I had a fight with the icy sidewalk and it won. I was holding Gator in one arm and Ry's hand in my other hand. Carefully scaling our nearly vertical driveway. I made it all the way to the bottom right next to the car and slipped; pulling Ry down on her hip and trying with all my might to protect Gator who flung backwards, leaving no way for me to hold on to him. He ended up underneath the car by the passenger side wheel and smacking his head on that nasty pavement. I screamed, couldn't move, cried and couldn't do anything but pull Gator out from under the car on top of me while he screamed bloody murder. All three of us lay there and soaked up the wetness and hurt. I smacked my elbow really hard and have a nasty sore, and I banged my head. Most of you know that I have an awesome fro that I usually wear in a ponytail, except for Sunday when I try to be presentable. Well, I am sure it saved me from a serious head injury because it cushioned my head right where I smacked it. Poor Gator boy has a blue goose egg the size of a quarter on the back of his head, but he seemed unscathed otherwise. Ry is sore with a rug burn on her hip... We survived, now I just need a good nights rest.

Ouch! I had a similar situation with my second child, but it involved a set of stairs. The stairs won , baby unharmed, and I broke my tail bone. At least both of you are ok with no serious damage. You guys are really getting smacked with the snow this year.

BUMMER... I'm glad no one was "seriously" hurt... but the minor hurts are usually more painful. Poor Gator, Ry and Mommy!!

If it gives you a good laugh.. I did the SAME thing at Junior Prom, the guy of my dreams, in front of his family! Nylons shredded, dress ripped, blood on his tux... what a great way to test a guy's sensitivity!

Sorry the ice defeated you. Get some rest!!!

I am so sorry! The one thing that I hate about the winter is the ice and the lack of depth perception with white snow!!

I fall/slip nearly every day. Most of the time I can catch myself, but sometimes I just can't and fall hard...like you did. I currently am nursing a very sore and scabbed over knee from a fall on New Year's Eve.

I'm glad that you are all okay. That is a real scare, especially for Gator.

Owe! Sorry you had to have a fight with the ice. Never fun! I noticed your comment on my blog so we will definitely have to chat. I thought you knew about my heart surgery.... Nothing major, but still, it was HEART surgery! And I will have to keep you updated about me trying to have babies and probably ask you a million questions. Sorry to hear about the recent, you know.. I love you tons and hope to talk to you soon. Pink

Ouch! I am glad to hear you are OK. My family has had our share of falls. When Leita was two she fell down the stairs and poked her eye. That is why she is blind in her right eye. It is never fun to see our kids hurt :(

There has been a lot of falling lately, (i.e. ME!!!) And I too was carrying a HLHS baby and I really have never been so freaked out in my life! Hope you get feeling not-so-sore soon!

I am so sorry. I know I have been so scared of falling with Kylie. I fell down the stairs with Landen when he was only a couple of weeks old (no ouchies). I have probably chewed up our driveway with about a whole bag of icemelt to make sure I dont slip with Kylie. I really HATE snow and ice. I am glad little gator and Ry is okay. You too!

I am so sad you and your kids fell but I can't help but laugh out loud when you refer to your hair as your awesome fro. You are so funny. Hope your ouchies heal quickly. Thank heaven you are all still alive. That is a dangerous vertical driveway. We should go shopping and get you some nice winter boots with super duper traction so you will be better prepared next time.

OUCH! I am so sorry. That reminds me of a time Ash and I were running throught Target, we were in a big hurry. She was about Ry's age and she was holding my hand. I tripped and took her down with me. Face plant on the hard tile of Target. I felt so bad for her. And I was so embarassed. Good times, good times. In hope you guys recover and the ice will be gone soon!

No snow here! Only wind! I walked outside with my GM yesterday and my dress flew up! I wanted to cry but we laughed really hard. Good thing I had on clean underwear! There was no explaining that one.

I hope you all feel better soon. What a scary situation.
