Chicken skin

Munchie has Keratosis Pilaris. A pretty common skin disorder. Not something that bothers her much. She just looks so uncomfortable with it. Any suggestions on how to improve her baby skin! I don't want to do anything non-natural. She has it on her cheeks(both sets), thighs and arms. I am sure I gave it to her, as I have it too. Her chicken skin is on the extreme side!

Poor baby...."Aveeno bath" helps to soothe and keep her as cool as possible. Good luck!

Use a cream for really, really dry skin. I have this on my upper arms and use a cream with urea in it. Don't worry - it's not the human kind. It sluffs off the bumpy skin and leaves the skin baby soft. Here is the link to where I buy it. http://www.sweenstore.com/atractain.html
It seems pricey but a little goes a long way and it totally works.

I use a dandruff shampoo on my skin, seems crazy but it works really good, takes away any itchy too. You can also make a olive oil and sugar scrub and exfoliate once a week. Good luck!

My son had this on both arms. Our doctor said to use baby wash and one of those poofy things and that it would gently exfoliate the skin. It did make a difference once we started doing that each bath. We were very gentle and he didn't mind a bit.

Preston has this very same thing. After spending WAY TOO much on dr. visits and creams etc... here is what he does. He showers with Aveeno body wash, the dye free scent free one and uses the same brand of lotion (dye free scent free) We wash all our clothes in a detergent I make, or ALL free and clear. It has not color dyes or perfumes. Also his favorite thing to use is CLEAR SKIN from doTERRA ask your sister about it. IT is amazing. As he is in his teen years now looks are important. He uses it at night and it drastically reduces the 'chicken skin' my morning. Good Luck with it :)

What has worked well for us was dowsing our daughter skin in vasaline. She had it on her cheeks, thighs, and arms.

I realize this blog entry was a few years ago but wanted to ask if you found anything that helped your little girl? My baby is 1 and has this bad on her face. I'm so desperate:(

We tried most of the suggestions above and haven't found anything that works. Someone suggested having her tested for a gluten intolerance, and someone else suggested it was dairy and others say sodium. At six she has it in her eyebrows and on her ears, those are some of the crazy places it has shown up. Keep me posted if you find anything.

This is a sign of gluten intolerance and vit A deficiency. Read on gluten and healing the gut definitely would benefit. Needs healing from inside not getting all greasy in creams and ointments.

My son had something like this 6 years ago, it went away after being gluten and dairy free 100% for 6 weeks. You have to stay on it long enough for it to heal and be vigilant. No breaking food rules for a special occasion

I see that this comment from 2012 and you also replied in 2017 as well, meaning she is at least 10/11 years old now, if I’m not mistaken? Does she still get it? It looks like Keritosis Peralis, my daughter has it also, and it looks very similar to the photos you shared. (Your daughter is beautiful regardless, but I know how annoying it can be) Please, keep me posted. I would love to hear an update from you! Stay safe and God bless, hope to hear back soon.

Also, I don’t know if you’ve tried these yet, they seem to be working for my daughter so far: KPaway, AMLactin (Lactic Acid), CeraVe SA, Urea, and of course Hydrocortisone or other cortisone steroid to bring down the inflammation.
